This website is about  information use  and  evaluation in community organisations

"We do not exist at the whim of information; that is not the fearsome prospect which greets us in a world ravenous for information. Our own capacity for meaning-making plays a crucial role. We, alone and in groups, serve as interpreters, deciding which information to pay attention to, which to suppress". - Margaret Wheatley Leadership and the New Science p100

Community organisations are required to collect, use and report information about their work to clients, communities, governance structures and funders. Projects that are run in community organisations are required to be measured and evaluated. Finding ways to report information that satisfies all the parties that have an interest in this area is a developing conversation and new ways of doing things are emerging.

This website is hosted by Platform Trust; our roots are in the mental health and addictions sector in New Zealand.

The issues addressed here impact on most community agencies particularly if they contract with the Government.

It features background papers that present the views and opinions from a community organisation or non government sector ( NGO)position.

It includes links to useful sites that may help when thinking about information collection and reporting and evaluation.
